[1] Parent Trust Fund (Connecticut Commission on Children) Show Details Web site
The Parent Trust Fund was created to build this parent leadership capacity and provide parents with the substantive civic tools to be effective advocates for children and participate in the civic life of communities throughout the state. Communities can apply to the CT Commission on Childern for these funds and receive $1,000 to $8,000 to support parent training programs.

[3] 2007 Application Guidelines for Community Conversations About Education (Community Mediation, Inc.) Show Details
Democracy Works gives up to $2,500 grants to sponsor a Community Conversation about Education. These local conversations are community-wide discussions that examine issues affecting children from birth through high school. Applications are due on September 17, 2007.

Community Mediation, with support from the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund provides grants and technical assistance to communities wishing to hold a Community Conversation About Education. These local conversations are community-wide discussions that examine issues affecting children from preschool through high school (K-12). The goal of the conversations is to improve outcomes for children from birth through age eight by involving more citizens in defining and supporting community priorities.

More than 30 Federal agencies formed a working group in 1997 to make hundreds of Federally supported teaching and learning resources easier to find on this website. Each month new teaching and learning resources are added to the site. The site also has a section called Gateway to Educational Materials, which offers a database of more than 24,000 education resources across more than 400 web sites.

The Hasbro Children's Foundation is committed to improving the emotional, social and physical well-being of disadvantaged children, ages birth through age 12, through the support of innovative direct service programs in the areas of health, education and social services.

Local grants for model community programs typically range from $500 to $35,000. For multi-site expansions, awards are for $35,000 and up, and are granted over a period of one to three years. The largest grants are awarded to programs that are national in potential impact and scope. Requests for funding are reviewed on a rolling basis.
