Community Spotlight: Ansonia, Derby and Shelton in the News
The work of the Ansonia, Derby and Shelton Discovery collaborative has recently been the focus of two New Haven Register articles, one about the Discovery grant the communities received and one about a parent workshop that was held in March. Visit the Derby page of the Discovery website to read these two great articles under "Featured Resources."
If you would like to submit articles written about the work in your community to be posted on your community page, please obtain the written approval of the author and publisher of the article and send it, along with the article or a link to the article to Donna Studdiford.

Listening to Black and Minority Ethnic Parents About Childcare
This publication from Daycare Trust (based in the United Kingdom), looks at what parents from black and minority ethnic communities think about childcare. Many of the issues discussed are applicable to the United States, including the high cost of child care, taboos against the use of child care, and the cultural ramifications of having one’s child cared for by someone from a different culture.
This publication can be found on the Daycare Trust website at http://www.daycaretrust.org.uk/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=1600&page_id=147
See Listening to Lone Parents About Childcare, also on the Daycare Trust site.
